A guarantee product in which the Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG) pays the tenant's deposit first, then seeks reimbursement from the landlord, in case a landlord fails to return the deposit even after the lease has ended. You can sign up through non-face-to-face channels such as Naver Pay, KakaoPay, and Toss, or at major bank branches; there are conditions - such as needing to sign up before half of the contract term has passed - so it's worth checking in advance. The guarantee fee varies based on the deposit amount and housing type. Counseling is available on weekdays through the customer center (1566-9009).
