This covers two related Ministry of Justice programs: the Village Lawyer program, which assigns a lawyer to residents of towns and townships without a local lawyer so they can consult by phone, fax, or email; and the Legal Home Doctor program, in which a lawyer is stationed at community support centers serving vulnerable groups such as basic livelihood recipients, people with disabilities, and older adults living alone. If litigation support is needed after counseling, cases can be referred on to the Korea Legal Aid Corporation and similar organizations. The assigned lawyer and consultation method vary by region, so it's best to check with your local town/township community service center.
